A senior freelance corporate communications specialist with proven strengths in strategic communications, reputation management, corporate responsibility and governance, and marketing communications.

With executive experience at several major multinationals, for the last five years I have operated as a management and communications consultant, working with several leading international organisations and agencies.

My career began as a corporate planner and economist with British Gas; I then moved to market planning and research before becoming advertising manager for Eastern Gas. On to Bosch as UK publicity manager, where amidst the white goods, power tools and industrial robots, I was first acquainted with the automotive industry.

In 1988 I moved to Lucas Industries to become Director of Corporate Communications with global responsibility for communications, investor relations and public affairs.

Six months after the BMW purchase of Rover, I joined the Rover Group Board as Director of Corporate Affairs, responsible for international teams in Europe, the US and Japan, and launching the complete range of Rover, Land Rover and MG products.

In 1999, I was appointed ‘Bevollmächtiger’ or Representative of the Board of BMW AG and Director, London Liaison Office.

In 2002 I became Director of Corporate Affairs for the aerospace to medical conglomerate, Smiths Group, leaving in 2004 to form Marlin Consulting.

Since launching Marlin I have marketed and launched companies, promoted books, a film, a country and a world class (living) artist. I have run events, conferences, projects and campaigns among others for Bosch, London Business School, a US biotech company, an e-business start up, and a leading consumer body.

Non-Executive Director of Sound Strategies Ltd, a young consultancy advising companies on the use of sound in communication and branding.

Non-Executive Director of Lumiere Kinesis, a company that recently bought the Regal cinema in Evesham.

I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, a member of the Guild of Public Relations Practitioners, and of the Institute of Directors.

Board member of the Elgiva Theatre, Chesham.

I am also Treasurer of the Thames and Chilterns branch of the CIPR.
